The Faculty of Humanities at Chancellor College, a constituent college of the University of Malawi, comprises eight academic departments, namely African Languages and Linguistics, Classics, English, Fine and Performing Arts, French, Language and Communication Skills, Philosophy, and Theology and Religious Studies.

Besides teaching and research, these departments offer consultancy services in a range of disciplines in the arts and humanities. The faculty also offers content courses to students in the Faculty of Education – supporting their training to become teachers of languages and the arts in secondary schools. Postgraduate degrees are also offered in Literature; Pure Linguistics; Applied Linguistics; Theology and Religious Studies; and Philosophy.

The Faculty has a centre, Centre for Language Studies (CLS), and it also oversees Chancellor College Community Radio (CCR), Chancellor College Publications, and the Bindery Section of the Library. It also functions as a link between the College and UNIMA affiliated colleges under the Board for Theological Studies (BTS). The faculty publishes the Journal of Humanities (JH) yearly.
